BC Recreation Site — Maintained to Standard — Lunan Road Recreation Site is a day-use site located along the beautiful Bulkley River near the town of Smithers with unobstructed views of Hudson Bay Mountain. This is "steelhead paradise", the Bulkley River is world famous for its steelhead and salmon fishing with several other fish species calling the river home. This site is day-use only and provides a semi paved/gravel boat launch, several truck/trailer parking spaces, access to the Bulkley River and a nice beach area when water levels are lower in summer. The site is in the riparian zone of the river and a popular location for boating, picnicking and walking or relaxing on the river bank. A variety of song birds and bald eagles are common sights.
