Campground Camping — Medicine Bow-Routt NFs and Thunder Basin NG — * NOTE (Update 10/1): This campground will close for the season on October 1st, 2024 Dumont Lake Campground is 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs, just minutes off of U.S. Highway 40 (Rabbit Ears Pass) between the towns of Steamboat Springs and Kremmling. The campground is made up of 22 sites and are combination of pull-through and back-in sites (17 are reservable through recreation.gov and 6 sites are first come basis.) Each campsite offers a fire grate and a picnic table. The nearby lake is located at the Picnic Area . Some sites offer a view of the lake which is within walking distance from the campground.
