BC Recreation Site — Maintained to Standard — 5 campsites — The Cochin Lake Recreation Site is located on the southern shore of Cochin lake, and is a popular fishing destination. Rainbow trout in the 1.5 to 2 pound size are said to be fairly plentiful in the lake. INDIGENOUS TERRITORY: Cochin Lake is situated within the declared aboriginal title lands of the Tsilhqot'in (pronounced "sil-ko-teen") Nation and caretaker area of the Xeni Gwet'in First Nation. The Tsilhqot'in people refer to this area as Gwedzin, or Gwedzin Biny.
