A little less driving. A lot more lake.
This is the leave-your-chair-out kind of weekend. Sleep in one campground, explore the lakes by day, and trade a packed schedule for time on the shore. The loop is optional if weather or road conditions make a simpler out-and-back the better choice.
Desk-researched September 9, 2026. Not field-tested. Distances are approximate local driving budgets, not calculated routes. Your drive to and from the region is extra.
Your itinerary.
01DAY 1 / About 10 local milesFind your spot above the water
Pick up a few supplies in the village, check in to your reserved site and find the approved drinking-water tap. Spend the remaining daylight at June Lake rather than adding another drive.
- SUPPLY STOP
June Lake village
Village planning pin. Shop for a picnic and supplies; park only in signed spaces that fit your vehicle. Do not assume a public RV water fill.
- OVERNIGHT
Oh Ridge Campground
Reserve a vehicle-compatible site separately on Recreation.gov. Check its individual driveway length. Seasonal drinking water and food-storage lockers are listed.
- WATER CHECK
Oh Ridge drinking-water check
Ask the host for the approved potable tap; this pin marks the campground, not a spigot. Confirm service and permission. No bulk tank-fill connection is promised.
02DAY 2 / About 25 local milesLet the loop set the pace
Follow the open sections of SR 158 toward Silver Lake. Choose a legal shoreline stop for your picnic and return to camp with daylight left. Skip the detour if parking is crowded or the road is closed.
- OPTIONAL OUTING
Silver Lake shoreline
Approximate lake-access pin along SR 158. A relaxed shoreline stop, not a campsite. Check the full loop is open and use legal pullouts with turning space.

Enjoy a final camp breakfast, check out on time and return to the village. Leave the drive to your next destination outside this deliberately small itinerary.

Where to call it a night.
Oh Ridge / nights 1-2
Book a site that accepts your vehicle and matches its driveway length. Do not choose a tent-only site for a camper. Availability is not checked by TrailSync.

Oh Ridge / drinking-water taps
Drinking water is listed for the operating season. Ask which tap is potable and whether tank filling is allowed; bring a backup supply.
Check service detailsJune Lake village / light resupply
Use the village for a picnic and purchased water. Arrive with fuel rather than depending on a particular small-town business being open.
Before you point the rig north.
- At roughly 7,600 feet, Oh Ridge can be cold even in summer. Snow can delay opening; dates here are a planning window, not an opening guarantee.
- Choose a site by measured total vehicle length. On the loop, do not pull into a small turnout unless you can safely turn and park.
- Use the campground food-storage facilities and follow host instructions. Keep scented items secured; no campfire is promised.
