Campground — Overview Waxmyrtle Campground is located 8 miles south of Florence within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The campground is situated near the beach, several hiking trails, and a non-motorized section of open dunes. These nearby attractions, combined with excellent campground amenities, make Waxmyrtle an ideal camping destination. Waxmyrtle also borders the picturesque Siltcoos River Estuary, where wildlife viewing is a popular pastime for campers.
