Campground Camping — White River National Forest — DELAYED: Meadow Lake Campground will be closed August 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm, through September 1, 12:00 pm Crews will be replacing the existing vault toilet (updated dates to be determined) or until the work is completed. This will require excavation, crane work and heavy equipment. Please use Meadow Ridge Campground on the east side of Meadow Lake until work is complete and construction hazards are removed. For more information, contact the Rifle Ranger District at (970)625-2371. Meadow Lake Campground is located 35 miles north of New Castle via the Buford-New Castle Road (County/Forest Road 245). The campground offers 10 campsites, all of which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. These campsites are suitable for tent camping
