BC Recreation Site — Maintained to Standard — Alpine Safety Cabin built and managed by Yellowhead Outdoor Recreation Association(call YORA to book). Moderate 3.4km hike to alpine cabin. — From Yellowhead Highway 5 in Valemount turn east onto 5th Ave for 1.5km and cross the railway tracks. Turn right and proceed 150m. Turn left onto Hillside Drive and proceed 1km. Turn right onto Swift Mtn Forest Road/5 Mile Rd and continue 6km up steep road (may require 4WD). Trail to cabin starts at top clearing.
