Campground Camping — Rio Grande National Forest — This campground is located near Creede, Colorado right beside State Highway 149. The elevation is 8,800 feet. It is comprised of 16 sites arranged in a large loop, of which 7 are paved pull through sites and 9 are dead end gravel spurs. Campground is located adjacent to Colorado Hwy. 149 and the Rio Grande River for easy access to through travelers and overnight campers. It is the closest Forest campground to the town of Creede. There is very little screening or trees in the campground, so any vehicle traffic along Colorado Highway 149 is visible and audible.
