BC Recreation Site — Maintained to Standard — A recreation site that houses Dawn Mountain Nordic Tail (REC259602),a network of maintained cross-country ski trails with a warming shelter that is maintained in partnership with the Golden Nordic Ski Club Society . Trailhead is found at the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The club expertly grooms 33 km of classic and skating ski trails, and a 4 km snowshoe loop in the winter. Trail fee applies during the winter months of November 1st to April 30th. Please pay the fees at the chalet before using the trails. During the summer months, the recreation site is open, however the trails remain non-mechanized and non-motorized as the ground stays humid. — Follow signs from Golden to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, 13 km from town.
