Campground Camping — Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest — Albion Basin Campground is located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, near Alta, Utah and many years does not open for use until July 4th or later due to snow depths. Hiking, fishing, mountain biking and rock climbing are other outdoor activities that can be enjoyed. Albion Basin is renowned for its vivid summer wildflowers. The basin hosts the Wasatch Wildflower Festival annually in late July or early August, complete with guided nature walks. Dogs, horses, and other domestic animals are prohibited in protected watersheds because their waste can end up in the drinking water, so pets are not allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon and Albion Basin campground.
